October is about closing out a year’s worth of growth and putting things away until another season arrives. This free verse poem encourages reflection, re-evaluation, and movement toward what comes next, even when the path ahead isn’t yet fully visible.

A central metaphor: in this poem, people letting go of things that no longer serve them and moving on.
