Tell the truth.
Be consistent.
Stop acting like your customers don’t know what a terpene is.
Cannabis shoppers aren’t elbow-deep in a baggie anymore, asking, “Got anything fruity, man?”
They’re informed, picky, and yes — they absolutely did Google your product before they walked in.
If you treat your customers like they’re high-schoolers hotboxing a Honda Civic, don’t whine when they go buy from the brand that actually respects them.
Some brands talk to customers like they just wandered out of a smoke circle and forgot their own name.
Newsflash: today’s cannabis shopper probably knows more about your product than the grower’s cousin who runs the Instagram page.
They know cannabinoids. They know terpenes.
Some of them have spreadsheets — spreadsheets, friend.
So when your marketing sounds like a stoner comedy from 2006, it screams one thing:
“We don’t take you seriously.”
And customers don’t trust brands that don’t trust them.
If your COAs look like they were printed on a potato, or your product descriptions sound like a horoscope, congratulations — your customers think you’re hiding something.
People want to know:
They don’t need you to be perfect.
They need you to be honest.
If something changes, say it. If you messed up, own it. If you improved something, brag about it — but with receipts.
Trust isn’t cute graphics.
Trust isn’t “we’re family-owned!”
Trust is proof.
Building cannabis customer trust is just like building a tolerance:
Consistency or nothing.
Show up regularly.
Educate without talking down.
Explain without bullshitting.
Give them content that respects their brain cells, even if half of yours retired in 1999.
The brands that win aren’t the ones shouting “premium!” the loudest — they’re the ones showing up, telling the truth, and backing it with data, every damn time.
So stop treating your customers like they fell off a dump truck on the way to the dispensary.
Start treating them like the informed, curious, pay-attention-to-details humans they actually are.
Respect them, and they’ll return the favor — with loyalty, trust, and receipts.
